Public Relations Officer -
Tau'atevalu, Mr. Siosiua (Josh) Fonua
Mr. Fonua was appointed Public Relations Officer of
Tongasat in 1996, and has since also been appointed
Registrar of the Tonga National Museum where her Royal
Highness, Princess Pilolevu Tuita is the Executive
Director. Mr. Fonua has more than 20 years experience
working with the media having started his career as a
Rural Broadcaster with the Ministry of
Agriculture. He is a former Editor of the
Tongan Government Weekly Newspaper, the Tongan Chronicle,
the first Tongan to hold the post. Mr. Fonua is also a
former Controller of Programmes and former Controller of
News, Current Affairs and Sport with the Tonga
Broadcasting Commission. Mr. Fonua was educated at
Auckland Grammar School and at Massey University at
Palmerton North, New Zealand.

Staff Engineer -
Mr. Christopher Kava
Mr. Kava graduated from the University of South
Australia (formerly South Australian Institute of
Technology) with an Associate Diploma in Mechanical
Engineering in 1991 and later a Bachelor of Engineering in
Mechanical Engineering in 1995. As a civil servant in
Tonga in the period 1991 - 1996, Mr. Kava held positions
as an Engineering Officer, a Field Service Overseer and as
Mechanical Engineer for the Ministry of Works, in
Nuku'alofa. Mr. Kava was recruited to Tongasat late in
1996 and is now responsible for satellite frequency
coordination and slot protection tasks as part of the Tongasat technical team.

Staff Engineer -
Mr. Vikiani Teumohenga
Mr. Teumohenga is a business graduate, in Information
System and IT, from Victoria University of Technology,
Melbourne Australia. Before joining Tongasat
in January 2000 he worked in the IT industry in Australia
for 10 years. As a member of the Tongasat technical team,
based at the Tongasat Headquarters in Nuku'alofa, Mr.
Teumohenga is responsible for ITU and radio regulatory
matters as well as satellite frequency co-ordination and
slot protection.

Chief Consulting Engineer
-
Mr. Mark C J Posen C.Eng. MIEE
For more than 10 years, Mr. Posen has been
providing engineering support to Tongasat and
is Tongasat's Chief Consulting Engineer. He is
also the Managing Director and Principal Consultant of RPC
Telecommunications Limited. Having 20 years of
professional experience in the satellite
telecommunications industry, he is highly experienced in interference management, international and national
regulation and frequency coordination of satellite
telecommunications networks and he is an expert on the
Radio Regulations and associated procedures of the
International Telecommunications Union.
Mr. Posen is a Chartered Engineer, listed on the
professional register of the UK Engineering Council and is
a Corporate Member of the British Institution of Electrical
Engineers.
